Finally, I've got the new computer up and running. After several hours of failed attempts, my 18.7gb of backup files have been restored by McAfee. I may still have to do a lot of re-configuring, and I still have some software to reload.

I started with McAfee Backup at 10:45am yesterday and finished at 10:15pm. I will be looking for another backup solution in the very near future.

Regardless, I am once again a very happy camper.:wavey:

By the way, the offer of a used laptop by youngdocglock never materialized.:whistling:

  2. Congrats!

I went through a similar experience a few years ago. Once I was done, I went out and bought a network hard drive that uses a LAN cable to plug into my router. While I could use it to backup my whole system, I just use it for important files.

Other than a couple whip SNAPS, everybody has played nice in your absence to my knowledge.

    Welcome back!

  7. NOT ME... I've been a good little girl. I even refused to be drawn into another reshoot debate - but it took incredible personal strength to not reply to it. :whistling:

FWIW, Acronis True Image Home along with a Seagate external USB 650Gb drive has saved my azz more than once!

    Highly recommended!

Welcome back to the wide world of webs.

Isnt it crazy to think of how small the www was in say 1994? I think there were less than 100 sites or something. Now look at us.

Edit: just saw that in 1993 there were 600 or so.

In mid 94 there was estimated 2500 or so.

    Yeah, I read that too.

Apparently Al Gore had a site (afterall, he invented the Internet?) and the other 599 were porn sites. :animlol:

The 601st site on the Internet was DannyR with his Radio Shack TRS-80 logging on to research "Glocks". :animlol:

So the TRS-80 finally bit the dust, eh Danny? :animlol:

Just kidding, Good to have you back.

Actually, it was my brother's used HP with a massive 20 meg hard drive and 640K of ram. Wow!

    Remember Prodigy?

I joined the old format GlockTalk in July or August of 1998.
