Philip Giraldi appears to be a big apologist for Iran. Read his other stuff. He apparently thinks Iran is a benign, bullied, country that should just be left alone.
Maybe, but Giraldi also spent 30 years in the CIA dealing with the Middle East. Maybe he knows more about the situation than most people. Can you give any countervailing evidence to any of his assertions?
Here's another "big apologist for Iran": http://original.antiwar.com/henderson/2012/02/05/is-iran-a-threat/
Can you refute anything he says?
No more than you can prove anything he says.
Here is the skinny on trying to prove/disprove something someone in the Intelligence Community (IC) says. You can't, you do not have access to the same level of information that they do. So I wish you the best of luck...
So I'm supposed to just assume it's all a lie until proven otherwise?
An important clue in the "mental make-up" of the author, Giraldi.......is contained in the very last sentence:
War isn't the object for Israel. It never has been, and never will be........it is simply a matter of self-preservation! Anyone who has been listening to the calls for Israel's destruction, knows without a doubt the threats are real......and, not imagined.
If the Israelis were simply left alone, and not constantly threatened and attacked........there would be peace along it's borders, and Israel would pursue it destiny without such a great need to be militarily protected.........the violence would stop there.
The violence would, and will continue in all the other countries in the middle east.........there is still plenty of hate elsewhere to know that this would be the case.
It is if they can "persuade" America to do the fighting.
Like the way we pulled their keisters out in the "Six-Day War" ?
If Giraldi validates your dislike for Israel, you're free to stew in it. Anyone who thinks Iran is the innocent "victim" of the Middle East is mentally ill.
...as is anyone who thinks Israel is our friend and not our burden.
Can't argue with you about that part, Max.
