Looks kind of excessive to me, but I'm no expert. :dunno:

    Does the slide rack smoothly?

It does look like there is some sort of excessive contact during the firing cycle. :dunno:

Hard to tell from a picture but it looks "borderline" to me. Any issues with reliability?

Well, after seeing those last few pictures, I can tell that the gun is completely destroyed. Go ahead and pack it up and send it to me. I'll just have to deal with it I guess. :whistling:

I had an Ultra CDP II with wear just like that. I sent the pistol back to Kimber for reliablity issues and I asked about the wear. I was told it it was perfectly normal.

The pistol was extremely tight when I first purchased it and after about 600 rounds, this sort of wear showed up and it loosened up quite a bit to the point where it rattled. Right below the feed ramp, the frame was pretty beaten up (where rounds impacted it due to the feeding issues) to the point that the frame started to form a lip where it feed ramp sat. I would post pictures to compare however I traded it Saturday. Picked up a NIB Benelli Supernova tactical and $550 to fund another "project".

My Ultra CDP looks about like that. I had a smith look at it and he said it wasn't bad, as long as it didn't keep wearing. It wore to that point in the first 1000 rounds, but hasn't continued to show any more wear. The pisol is a tack driver and 100% reliable.

Hard to tell from the pictures but many pistols will have wear patterns that look excessive but taper right off after so many rounds.
