Saw this in another forum and thought it was a joke. But the poster was serious and said it was from current production Gen 4 model Glock pistols:

Anybody else seen or noticed this on page 15 of the owners' manual that came with new gen 4 pistols? This is nuts!

It's just so that Glock can cover their rear if something happens and someone tries to blame them. They can say "Look here, we told them specifically to not do it, and they did it anyways, that's their fault, not ours." It's just Glock being smart and trying to make sure stupid people can't sue them, I doubt they really believe people shouldn't carry with one in the chamber.

Carrying in ready to fire condition is the only way to carry. Your pistol is useless in any other condidtion. You will not have time to draw, rack the slide, then fire, it doesn't happen that way.

Makes me want to start carrying something else. After seeing some recent trails I could see a lawyer using the fact the I kept one in the chamber against me. Saying I did not follow the authorized procedures of safe handling.

I'm looking at page 15 right now and it does not say anything like this unless I am blind.

The only thing that even comes close to this is a warning about the only safety being the trigger safety and it will shoot with a round in the chamber.

That looks totally different than my manuals for my Gen3 G23 and my Gen4 G26. Both of mine are the same except the Gen4 manual has extra pages in the back specific to Gen4 pistols.
How old is the manual in your pic?

Manuals change. Check the bottom front or back page for a revision number. Other (older or newer) manuals may or may not contain the same info, and even if they do, it may not be on the same page.

EDIT: The only Glock manual I have at-hand is dated "Rev.03/11" and it does contain the warning as shown above, on page 15, near the bottom.

    Let's see...bottom front page says: 30887 / 01 13

    Jan 2013 I'm guessing?

I did check other pages (not all of them) but I couldn't find the exact verbiage OP posted.

I know it's no biggie, but I do believe that one of the posters is right. I could see some jerk prosecutor using the manual against us in a self defense case. I've heard people say they are taking lasers off of their guns because they heard prosecutors are saying a laser shows intent.

Another manual I located, Rev.11/08, says the same thing on the same page, so this info has been in Glock manuals for a long time (3+ years).

Think it means you got to pull the trigger with your finger to make it work…

… as oppose to automatic. :)
