IMO the LE6920 is a much better deal at around $1000 (various sites if you look around)

Do you really need that rail? Its not removable from what I understand. With the 6920 you can run whatever handguard system you want.

Spend the extra money on mags and ammo FWIW.

My new catalog has them at $995 here in Texas. I bought Rock River, mistake or not I would do it again, 100% satisfied with it.

Just bought a BCM middy for under the price you listed. Go BCM!

If you want the 6940 then get it, thats the best price ive seen on it.

I had a hard time choosing between the 6920 and 6940, i went with the 20 because it was cheaper, sometimes i wish i would have grab the 40 but it really doesnt matter anymore.

If you can get a 6920 for $995 that would be a great deal.

I didn't know the rail was not removable. I'm not sure I like that prospect too much. I would like the rail to eventually attach a light.

The 6920 looks like a viable option at this point..

So, I also just discovered I can get a deal (?) from these guys: http://www.specializedtactical.com/titan-rifle-series/

In particular the Titan B for $1600. I had based my decision to purchase the Colt or BCM from 'The Chart.' Well, now the author has removed the chart, hopefully temporally, and I've never really heard of these guys. From my understanding the lower is machined instead of forged- is this desirable? Is THIS a good deal?

As I've mentioned I'm new to AR's, so my knowledge base is limited.

    Thanks again!

I don't know anything about that particular company, but after a quick glance over their website I don't see anything about testing or quality control. My beat advice would be to go with a proven rifle of the best quality. You said yourself that you've looked at colt and BCM already from your research. That's what you should be looking at.

Also it looks like that particular rifle has a whole lot of unnecessary extras jacking up the price.

BCM. Best bang for the buck. Although they are in very high demand right now, so you might have a hard time finding one.
