This has been an ongoing issue since the computer was new. It is now about 7 yrs old. It did it at our old house, and our current house. The problem is, my speakers intermittently pick up radio broadcasts. Usually happens at night, but has happened during the day as well. This happens even if the computer is turned off. If I turn the speakers off, or unplug them, it no longer does it, but it will still do it even if the volume is all the way down.

Any thoughts, or am I the owner of a possessed computer? :dunno:

do you keep your cell phone or blackberry near the speakers when this happens? At work sometimes i keep my blackberry on my desk (if its charging) and when i get emails or phone calls or anything that the berry is doing in the background; then the speakers make a crazy noise from the radio waves...when speakers are turned off...nothing happens

It's not the cell phone interference noise, it is full-on radio programming.

I guess it is poorly shielded speakers. Only thing I can think of.

I just wish I could change the station.
