No. California culture won't work in Dixie, and vice-versa.

SF... you're only a couple hours from where I am. As for moving... would love to, but sadly it's not a possibility due to constraints outside my immediate control. That and the economy sucks so leaving a job is rather stupid at this time.

California is a shining example of what not to do and the consequences of doing it.

The longer you wait, the more likely that you'll never do it.

It took us fifteen months to sell our home in the mountains south of Los Gatos, but we bit the bullet anyway...rented a place in Las Vegas until our supposed retirement home in California finally sold.

We moved here in 2010 and never even look to the west for fear that we'll see California again.

Acre-for acre, California is the most beautiful state in the country. However, ....well, you know the rest.

    Get out now!!! Save yourself.

As far as the post, rather than the thread title, yes Democrats made it clear that illegal aliens and convicted felons are their chosen voting block. They have pushed for laws across the country to automatically restore voting rights to convicted felons when they are released from prison - I think one of the northeastern states lets them vote while in prison. No explanation for whay they think better choices of leadership are made by including the most anti-social 1% of the population. I assume using those 2 groups to win the presidency in 2008 was enough to keep them from asking philosophical questions.
