I have an iPhone 3GS running os 4.1. I am trying to downgrade to os 4.0.1 or similar in order to jailbreak it. Any ideas on how to do this? Before I have messed with doing a shift click and restoring from the old file, but I dont know where that file is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to downgrade in order to have flash.

IMO, Flash is something you want on a phone, until you actually start using it. It's slow and buggy. I tried Frash (lets the browser load flash if you want it to) on my iPad, and it doesn't work that good.

Thanks for the link, it's got some good info, but not really what I'm looking for. There are also other reasons I want to jailbreak besides flash.

Is there a jailbreak out for iOS 4.1 yet?

Ya I google'd before I posted on here and looked at that same link you sent me.

    The problem lies here

" If you have already saved your SHSH files for one or more earlier firmware versions on Saurik's server, you can follow these steps to downgrade from iOS 4.1."

This way of rolling back software only works on devices that were previously jailbroken, where SHSH files were saved. I had my old iphone crack (along the black plastic back) on me so they gave me a free new one that hasn't been jailbroken, is on the iOS 4.1, and has no SHSH files saved. If I had those files then I could easily roll back, but I can't seem to find them anywhere online either.
