Can You give me a few options to choose from (as the selection here is really limited), please?
Reliable in your experience, but still light on your pocket...thanks :wavey:

All of the major brands have worked for me in all of my 1911's. The Chip McCormick Power Mags are a best buy in my view. I am using Mec-Gar, McCormick, Wilson, Metalform, Colt, and Kimber. 45's are pretty forgiving. 40 S&W and 9mm are often finicky.

el cheapo generic colt45 magazines are GTG only if the followers are swapped with dimpled Metalforms.

These are both good options. My CMC magazines have given me zero problems.

I use mostly Wilson 47D's but I continue to be impressed with the three or four Checkmate mags I have.

Metalforms are good and reasonably priced. CDNN has them for around $13-$14, if I recall correctly.

    Somewhere in the air.
I use Wilson 47 Ds in everything, Metalforms for my 38 Supers, Novaks in my Sigs, Colt mags in my Colts and Les Baers in my Les Baers.

Chip McCormicks are the only mags that have ever made my Gold Cup choke.

I use CM shooting stars, they seem to work in the various 1911's of my grandpa's i shoot. The 12 mags i use have probably seen well over 5,000 rounds and i have not had any base pads breaking or feeding issues with them. They are a bargain and only cost about 17$ through midway

I've used the Chip McCormick Power Mags that came with my Performance Center 1911 with no issues.

Been pretty happy with Novak mags (NightHawk, Smith and Wesson...whatever you want to call them). They've run guns that didn't even like Wilson ETMs.

Spend a little more and get Wilson 47D's.They are well worth it.

  15. I've got tons of whatever magazine Springfield supplies with their 1911s, and each and every one of them have been flawless for me.

I've got Colt factory mags and maybe 2 Wilsons, again all have been flawless. The factory mag that came with my Kimber was even perfect too.

I've read of most everyone having great luck with just about any of the major brands; Tripp, Metalform, Chip McCormick, so on.
