In China, Crime Is Kept Quiet, Except on TV

    I saw plenty of crime when I visited china. The only difference is the cops either stood by while it happened or didn't care unless central planning authorized a crackdown.
     


  3. I met a police Chief (long retired) who told me how when he visited China in the 1980s, he suggested to his counterpart that the police should wear patches to make themselves stand out. At the time, everybody wore the same Mao jackets, including the police.
