Well despite the appeals to authority and emotion. I see a bunch of things already banned by "Moms" in those pictures. Books, candy, etc.

Are kids now allowed to bring guns to school?

Yeah ladies, keep banning stuff it's worked so well in the past

Things like logic don't appeal to a lot of women out there. Emote, emote, emote.

It's the same as having a picture of a kid smoking / drinking / stripping or whatever in class and say that it is not banned in Ameirca.

Actually, a child < 18 can't legally posess a firearm. Nor can a firearm be brought to school as the pictures suggest. So, it's a flawed concept to begin with. Taking it a step further, there's no consitutional right to posess some of the items - like candy, while there is a Supreme Court confirmed right to possess common and ordinary arms. Given the number of ARs in existance, it will qualify when it is received by the Supremes.

So from beginning to end, this is an emotional half truth.

I didnt know all of that stuff was not in school to begin with. Sad that they want to take everything they think is dangerous away. Lets take pencils next.

    My thoughts really?
I think they want to feel good about themselves without doing anything to really save children from gun violence.

That campaign is stupid. It assumes that everyone agrees that their over reaction to a book that mentions a bottle of wine or a chocolate egg, is reasonable and not a complete pant load of stupid. Besides, I would never allow my child to take an AR to school. She can't even remember to bring her lunchbox home half the time.

If they support action, why have they put rifles in the hands of small children.........Just for pictures. Rather shallow.

A long, LONG time ago. There are schools out there that won't allow copies of the Harry Potter books because they promote satanic rituals (or at least non-Christian beliefs). Hell, there are still some schools out there that ban Huck Finn!

Here's a nice list for you:

Even more, they are confusing things banned in the country and things banned in schools. The USA hasn't banned dodgeball or Little Red Riding Hood. Ar15's are obviously banned from public schools, although those ads would like to suggest otherwise.

This thread title was deceptive. My wife and I are going on a trip this weekend. I'm hoping she too will be a mom demanding action.
