But before I do, I wanna know if the G23 has had any problems in the past? For example, the G19's spring and ejector were giving people trouble until the updated parts came out...has there been any kind of issues with the Gen4 G23's???

Dont consider do. To my knowledge (which is limited) no there have been no major issues with FTF or FTE on the G23, many of these issues are coming from user error, limp wristing.

  3. They are good to go now! I have three early g23 gen4, one of them was problematic out of the box, but I was able to fix it, that was like two years ago and it's still a very reliable gun. The g23 gen4 is a great pistola! I am sure you will love it.

  4. Yes, your knowledge about this appears to be very limited.

No need to be an ass, I admitted my knowledge is limited but I have not heard too much about people having the same issues at all with the Gen 4 .40 pistols. The 9mm however has had many small issues with extractors, ejectors and CTH which is easily fixed with the updated parts or proper shooting technique, limp wristing the smaller 9mm will result in a FTE, this is not such a problem with larger calibers due to the recoil.

My G19 Gen4, born in September 2012 continues to have erratic ejection.

My G23 Gen4, born in October 2012 is flawless.

I would not hesitate to buy a G23.

My Gen 4 23 has very positive ejection to the 3:00 to 4:00 position. No where near the face like some have experienced with the 9s. Even good ejection with WWB, which I consider one of the lower quality practice rounds.

I did a ton of research on the Gen 4 .40s before I made my purchase. The reviews and feedback from users that I found was very positive. I got a gen 4 G22, and it has become my favorite gun. Good luck with your purchase.

I own both a 19 and 23 and haven't had any probs yet out of the 23. The 19 had some early brass to face but not recently.

Quite mild with 180 gr loads. A bit snappy with 165s.

If you can find one, jump on it. The 23Gen4 is my favorite semi-auto by far. I only shoot 165gr and 180gr bullets but the recoil is equivalent to the 9mm in my opinion and ejection is strong at 3-4 o'clock. This pistol is loved far and wide by many. Since I bought it in December it has never had a problem. Enjoy.

There is an issue with lights/lasers restricting frame flex and causing FTF hangups. You might need to tinker with mag springs or different lights in order to get it 100% functional.

Not that different then the 19, I shoot both
back to back. You'll love the G23.

I only have Glocks in .40cal in Gen4 (G23/35) they shoot great! The double recoil assembly dampens the felt recoil A LOT! My Gen4 G23 is now my daily CCW! I still don't trust the Glock Platform in Gen4 9mm... All my 9mm Glocks are Gen3....

Ok so I'm pretty much sold on buying a G23. I've heard and read tons of positive feedback on this gun, but should I get a Gen 3 or 4???

Yeah I also like the look and feel of the Gen 4's better. I was leaning more towards the Gen 4 just because I want the latest version of the pistol.
