I've owned several USPs in various caliber flavors (all variant 1) and several Glocks in various caliber flavors. Both are great pistols.

I didn't read through this thread, but the Glock price seems steep to me, but that's probably due to the color of the frame. If he sticks to his price, the HK is a better buy price-wise.

Both are very reliable pistols, but what the Glock has going for it over the HK is the over-abundance of parts (both OEM and after-market) and cheaper magazines.

Your best bet is to have your friend let you shoot them and chose the pistol you like/shoot best.

HK is a better deal. I pay 500 for NIB glocks around here. So unless hes throwing in a few extra mags or some ammo not a good deal.

I'm very happy with the purchase. He threw in a hogue slip on grip for the HK and a nice holster made for the gun. He also threw in 33 round Glock mag. Both guns are super clean with not very many rounds down the pipe.. I'm going to shoot that HK tomorrow. Can't wait! The G19 has True Glow H-3 sights on it. That's something I'm not use to. Thanks again for all the advice.

Buy the HK!!! The USP Compact in .40 is my duty weapon, and it's a fantastic piece. Unlike my Glock 17, it's never failed, and I've fired about 10 times more ammo through it. The Glock 19 is certainly a nice pistol, but this one is very overpriced.

Post pics of your new USP! :)

  16. I bought my 3d gen 19 brand new last month for $499 from my local gun shoppe. Opps, looks like you got both...Congrats!

Just saw you got 'em both. Let's figure $400 for the Glock, and $525 for the HK. Enjoy!
