12.5 # recoil spring, 17# main spring. TEll your friend to Check his load. If he is loading long ( 1.200 +)OAL, he is probably not making major. I am loading 4.9 Grains with molycoated bullets at 1.220 OAL ( 172 PF).
    Gun is SV LDC.

15lbs is the lowest srping weight for the mainspring that you should try, imho, but you need to get an extended fp like the limcat or egw to avoid misfires.

i use a 19 lb ismi. can't detect the difference bet. the 17 and 19 so i stuck to the 19lb for the added reliability.

    recoil spring is ismi 12.5lbs

PS: most US smiths use ismi chrome silicon springs, but wolff, wilson or nowlin springs are also very good. But you'll notice most ipsc shooters use ismi springs.

And never cut the mainspring to shorten and further reduce the power. mag du.dud ka lang. most local gunsmiths cut the springs when they do a trigger job. siguraduhin mo na huwag putulin.

nothing wrong with using a 14lb mainspring. you just have to try the different spring rates to see if it makes a big difference in the pistol's handling.
