For those of you who are PC junkies, I just thought you might be interested to see what approx. a grand can get you these days. After I priced this system out, I thought about what a grand could get you say even just a year ago and it's amazing how fast tech marches along. I plan on buying this system, or one similar, near the end of '06 and I imagine

I have an Ibuypower. I love it. I would gladly buy another from them. They are one of the few places that will let you get just a preformatted HD and save you the expense of buying another copy of windows or let you load it with Linux, etc.

Good computers at a great prices. They also always score well in comparisions in computer mags.

illuminate100, that is a sweet system. With a system like that, how much more would it cost to do Raid 5 instead of Raid 0?

Oh, are you going to assemble it yourself, or have it assembled and shipped to you?

I think they ship it already put together, but hey, I am glad you asked about the RAID thing because honestly I don't know the difference. I know a "RAID" config means that you have two or more hard drives and somehow RAID has to do with how they're managed, but what is the difference between different kinds of RAID configuratons??
