    a 1.5lb. trigger pull for a glock!

actually this is not new to me, i knew the secret to the 1.5lb. pull since last year, the real headache was the reset! i could not figure out how to have a reliable reset with a 1.5lb. pull, it was easy w/ a 2+lb. pull but a real headache once i went down. last week in batangas i was averaging 3 malf's bcos of reset problems, another 3 bcos of ftf's, but thats another story altogether. finally after totally destroying 1 connector and nearly destroying a trigger bar... i think i got it!

i tested it kanina and it was flawless.

but i think the real test would be in the heat of battle....... so, i would like to take this opportunity to invite everyone to our scheduled level 3 match this coming march 30, it would be like the batangas level 3 w/c means you can finish it in one day:thumbsup:

    hope to see you here....

next stop... stronghand, i heard their lead bullets are smaller than jethro's, i went to final option and delio the gunsmith and i tried their reamer, but it was already reamed, meaning the reamer didnt take any material off, sabi ni delio sayang lang kung pilitin namin. anyways, see you soon.

Whoa! That's something I've never heard of before. Are you going to use it for just competition or for carry as well?

my gun is for comp and carry, in fact i switched to sevigny carry sights bcos the sights that i was using before, dp adjustable/fo front, was not suitable for carry.....but i never carry chamber loaded, i believe in the "israeli draw".

i can take you thru it step by step sir, but first i got to know kung ano na nagawa mo sa baril mo:thumbsup:

sir, wala pa, post ko dito as soon as i get it, tnx

sir ano na nakalagay or nakalikot nyo sa glock nyo?

next step would be, reduced power striker spring, mariner cups, glockmeister extra power trigger spring....i think the springs you can get at glockmeister and the cups are available here...final option or trust trade:thumbsup:

Thanks for the reply. Good thing you're not going to carry Condition 1, I'd be a bit nervous doing the same with such a light trigger pull.

this is the difference between a regular cz75 and the cz75 combat, their competition pistol, this was taken from the cz website:

Micrometric rear sight, trigger overtravel regulation, absence of the firing pin block and other special features predispose this model to be used in target shooting competitions.

if they can do it why cant i do it???????????

also some models of the 1911 that have better crispier trigger pulls dont have a firing pin block, or it has also been removed altogether.

    Peace! :)
    No one's saying "you can't".
But if you want reasons why I was 'whistling'...

That CZ75 still has a positive manual safety. Ditto the 1911.
Your Glock doesn't, and its striker safety is there for a reason.
    I mean...

    I wouldn't carry a 1911 chambered, cocked and unlocked,
even with a factory 4.5 pound trigger -much less with a 1.5 pounder.*
If you think you have what it takes to do that safely, 24/7,
in public with lots of bystanders potentially around, then you
possess more confidence than I ever could.

A superlight trigger for comp isn't unusual, but an SD situation
is a totally different barrel of fish:

You won't have the luxury of 180 degrees of relative surety that you
won't hit innocents even with an ND, let alone the advance notice
that you are going to be launching lead that day, nor will you have
to deal with the amped odds of a draw-snag ND from concealment skin,
    etc., etc., etc.

Superlight triggers, concealment holsters and SD adrenaline dumps
are just too edgy a recipe for me, especially when I and mine could
be out there, unawares, in the line of fire.

    JMHO, YMMV, TANSTAAFL, etc.

    Again, peace.
My sincere apologies if I came off a little harsh, 'pare!

    :)

    EDIT: forgot the footnote below.
*Carrying unchambered is possibly as dangerous, but only to
the one carrying and only in the time of his/her need to be armed.

wala pare i didnt take it that way, i was just showing you the rationale behind why i did what i did. no offense was taken and i hope non was given.

actually, you can have a 1.5lb. glock trigger w/ the stiker safety installed, vanek has done it, i did it before, but, i felt it was still a glock trigger, i.e. long travel.

sabi ko sa sarili ko, gusto ko "hair trigger" talaga, and this is what i came up with.

with regards to carrying "condition 2".

in an SD situation, my humble opinion is, knowing how to shoot is only half the battle won, the other half is knowing how to look for cover. take a look for example what happened to s. parsons, why did he win? the simple answer is he knew how to look for cover then shoot from cover. i feel that when im carrying condition 2 before i draw my gun ill look for cover first then shoot from cover. if i have no choice, then i feel that w/ practice, i can draw and rack the slide as fast as the other person can draw and shoot, thats why i shoot ipsc w/ the same gun that i carry. YMMV peace mr. H:thumbsup:

Andrew, with the lighter striker spring and lightened steel striker hindi ka ba naka-experience ng light primer strikes? Sa G17 ko kasi with the lighter striker spring and titanium striker, i experience this with CCI primers. Sa winchester primers walang problema pero yung mga factory defense loads kasi mukhang CCI primers ang gamit.

  18. hi andrew,

can i ask, which part of the setup keeps the extractor in place since the striker safety was removed?

    thanks,
    stan

ps - see you sa san pablo shoot. i already installed the dawson sight i bought from you. :)

    hi paul,
naka experienced ako light primer strike sa stock striker and light striker spring, thats why nag palit ako ng lightened steel, na notice ko so far mas malalim ang tama nya sa primers compared to the stock striker and so far wala pa naman dud ako na experienced, si chris patty nag recommend ng lightened steel i was supposed to go with Ti also pero di daw tumatagal yun. his website is cpwsa.com.

    hi stan,

the thing.....i took a peek at the manual and its called the extractor deppressor plunger, its no. 12 in the drawing in the manual

    see you here march 30:thumbsup:

  20. ok andrew see you on march 31, patingin na din ng setup mo at papuputok na din ha?

    cheers,
    stan
