I paid my taxes

Discussion in 'The Okie Corral' started by teumessian_fox, Apr 15, 2012.

  1. Dunno about you guys, but 100% of my tax dollars went to support and supply the pride of America, the most proficient and efficient killing machine in the history of the world, the United States military.

Thanx to those guys, I can live a peaceful and prosperous life.

You're one up on Timothy Geitner and about 80% of the Obama administration.

Mine went to support a 23 year old girl(and, indirectly, her babies daddies) from the Stanley Homes Housing Project in Atlantic City with three kids and cockroaches living in her hair*. I feel that we all have a responsibility to work hard and pay taxes so she can get high, get pregnant, and loaf around all day.

*True story. I actually met a girl from these projects and watched cockroaches (plural) crawl from her hair and up the wall she was leaning against.:puking:

Statistically speaking, half of GT'ers paid no federal income taxes.

A little over half goes to military-related expenses.

And like Ross Perot said, "I'm proud to pay. It means I'm making money." Or something like that.

This was the 1st year I owed. I guess Uncle Sam didnt get to use my money as an interest free loan this time? Last year he had my $5,000 dollars interest free for a year when I could have been investing it some where else.

Wrong. Defense spending is about 20% of the budget, or 30$ of revenue. Entitlements make up half of the budget and if we didn't run a deficit, they would consume fully 75%. In fact, if we didn't run a deficit, entitlements and payments on the national debt combined would take up 90% of revenue and we would not have enough left over to even support a military.

    And . . . this is unsustainable.

Without the political will to reduce spending ( or in the case of Democrats, even create a budget), financial failure is imminent.

The Titanic has already hit the iceberg and has floundered. The water is swirling at our feet.

The big difference is that in today's political environment, steerage is getting first choice at the lifeboats. HH
