Prayers for him and his family...
Prayers going up, Russ.
Best wishes for his speedy recovery
Okay, Mrs RussP & I went and sat with Da Law today, comforted Mrs Da Law, counseled Da Law's twin brother, the FBI Agent, and talked with a whole bunch of cops there visiting.
Bad news, he's still hasn't opened his eyes.
Good news is he knows we are there. He has given us thumbs up when asked. He is nodding his head in response to a question. He is wiggling his toes when told to. He held Mrs RussP's hand as she talked with him and squeezed it in response to her comments.
We are no where near out of the woods, but the doctor says he is now cautiously, cautiously optimistic, but that could change. He said he is doing everything medically to heal him, and he is also praying. We told him that we have prayers coming from cops all across this country and from LE in a few foreign countries.
I showed Mrs Da Law the view count. Told her those were cops and friends checking in and surely praying for all of us. She cried and said to thanks everyone for the love and prayers.
So, please, keep the prayers coming. You don't have to post, just view the thread and increase that number.
I'll be seeing them every other day or so and will post updates as appropriate.
I want to thank this law enforcement family which, as a LE parent and friend of a few cops, I've been privileged to get to know. We, and I use the word with humility, do stand together when challenges are thrown down.
Again thank you, and Stay Safe...
First, Prayers of thanks for the good news, and more prayers for continued healing, and more good news.
I don't post on here often, but I read it daily. Russ you honor us all with your End of Watch Posts and avatar. Your work to keep Cop Talk civil for all is admirable. Although I am retired now I think I can speak for more than a few others on here when I say " I'd ride with you anytime."
Thoughts are with you all. Glad you & the missus can be there for them, Russ.
My prayers are with Da Law, Da family and you and your wife as well.
My fingers are crossed until I get an "all clear" from Da Law.
Of course, prayers sent.
Thanks for the update on how he's doing Russ. Prayers still outgoing.
prayers for officer and family sent. Hope he gets better very soon.
Those are really good signs. Prayers continue. Keep talking to him, be positive. Don't let any idjit doctors speak in any negative term near him. This matters at this stage of the game. This goes for nurses and NAs as well, but especially doctors.
He is in a neuro-intensive care unit. The consensus of those with him observing the different shifts is that the staff has been outstanding. When they have even something slightly negative to say, they leave the room...
Thanks for the input and prayers!
Positive thoughts and prayers sent his way for a complete recovery and for his friends, Family & co-workers to stay strong!
Best wishes from Austria also.
I walked into Da Law's room and everyone was smiling. His brother said, he's awake. I look at the bed and his wife says to him, "Russ is here, Russ is here." He raised his head, turned, saw me and his eyes focused on me. He was holding his wife's hand and lifted both in my direction.
He called his brother by name, his wife by a nickname. All good signs, but... we have a very, very long road ahead of us.
Thank you all for your generous prayers and good thoughts. They are greatly appreciated by all of us. Please, please keep them coming.
WOW! Great News! Continued Prayers for more Good News!
