That would be like looking forward to sunny beaches and the beautiful women that a Marine Corps recruiter promised me would be in San Diego,CA.:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I didn't believe him then and I don't believe Microsoft now.

I do appreciate the heads up. I will hold off until I hear some feedback before I move forward with my Windoze boxes.

I'm installing the service pack on a couple of virtual machines to test it before I install it on my computers ... or recommend it to others.

Everything I am reading says that it's a pretty 'Ho Hum' service pack compared to what we are used to when a service pack is released. No real earth shattering improvements.

Supposedly it was ready in November, but was delayed.

So far I have 2 out of 5 (or so, I loose count) done with no issues. The primary work computer is just singing along.

I am thinking this will be a very quite service pack, and now perhaps the 'post service pack' adopters will find out how good Windows 7 really is.

    L8ter...

  10. I'm gonna wait till they make the CD available. This way, they'll get many of the kinks and bugs worked out thats most invariably found in the earlier releases.

The whole "faster startup" is just a shell game. You get the welcome screen faster and then when you log on all the "time you saved" comes back as you wait for your desktop to load.

I came to see just who had already found out there are issues... and now I know.

So far I have 5 with Win7 SP1 installed, and ZERO issues...

    BUT...

According to this article, Microsoft has put together some tools to help those who have issues:

Microsoft notes Windows Update "inconsistencies," provides fix...

Hope that helps those having issues...

    I do the same thing.

I suggest to most that it serves little purpose to begin every endeavor with 'Microsoft sucks' and 'every update will destroy my machine.'

If you don't like the product, don't use it. If you use it, accept it for what it is and make it work. If Microsoft products were so terrible, they wouldn't sell any, no?

    Never install a MS/SP until SP2.

By then, they have fixed all the problems caused by the 1st one....
