I was at Fry's today and saw this on sale:

    Keyboard

Logitech Illuminated keyboard with perfectstroke key system and ultra-thin profile. It's like a laptop keyboard which I prefer, and it's backlit. I don't know what the light source is, if it's LED or what, but it's an even white light that looks good, in dark or even dim settings.

I will never use a non-illuminated keyboard again.

It's got to drive keyboard manufacturers nuts that likes are so personal. I have an old Dell QuietKey KB that I have moved from computer to computer and will never give up until it dies. It has a heavy touch and strong breakover. Just what I like.

I have never tried a back lit KB but I can see where it would be handy as I like to keep room lights a little dim to make the display pop more.

No Fry's around me and I don't think a KB can be ordered on the web. Gotta try it first. I've been out to the west coast many times on business and do miss Fry's.
Old website but if you haven't seen it:

is that as purple looking in real life as it does in that picture?

I've been using a G11 for a while now, i like the blue illumination of the letters of the keys and that the light doesn't spill much from under the keys themselves.

The keys themselves are lit purple and can be changed to other colors. The keyboard itself is black but is picking up the purple glare of the keys.
