I figure it was time to do an inventory.....

Discussion in 'Reloading' started by schild, Nov 8, 2012.

  1. I went to Cabela's today to pick up some extra powder and when I got home I thought I should check to see how many primers I had.

I was kind if shocked when I figured out I have 28,000 primers.
The best part is that they've probably doubled in price since I bought them!:tongueout:

Is that one type or combination of SP, LP, SR, LR, etc?

That is a bit over my min of 5K each size. So SR, LR, SP, LP, throw in a few 1000 mags for each, 25K is a min for me. You need more.
  4. Not currently loading LR, a fact I seldom mention on the internet is the 50,000+ loaded rounds I have, so I think I've got enough.:whistling:

I took an inventory count a couple of months ago just so as to balance out the components.

My thoughts were to have a similar number of primers to reload the bullets in stock and enough powder to do the same.

It was interesting to see where some of the gaps popped up and what I needed to buy.
  6. Nice man in the big brown truck just delivered 5k large pistol primers to the Norton household today.

I did the same thing too last week. Going in I thought I had maybe 12-14K....ended up with 21 K boxes and other misc. trays of 100 I'm working off of which is around 23K total maybe.

Why not, you have to justify the HM fees! At least that is what I tell the wife.

Well, it's too late now to do anything about it. Just try and get by until everything calms down again. Next time stock up before hand.

I keep telling myself that I should buy some more primers. But I know how many I have and just can't talk myself into it.

I guess I better stock up. I thought that I had a fair amount at 3000 LP and 8000 SP (CCI & Fed) but compared to you guys I'm lagging behind.

What I really am getting low on and need to order is bullets. Have been meaning to reorder for a couple of weeks and keep forgetting to do so. Will do it FOR SURE later today.

I have about 15k sp and 5k large (way more than enough). I was considering a 10k order of sp.. which should put me good for at least 18-24mo
