My wife and I are considering one of these for our next new car. We test drove one this weekend and were very impressed with the quality (on par with Honda and Toyota in our opinion).

Any opinions on the 2006-2007 model years specifically?

    Thanks guys,

My grandmother bought her last car, an barely used 2005 Sonata. She came from a 1994 Buick LeSabre (which I bought from her).

It came fully featured, and drives well. Steering is more precise but also more sensitive to input than the "riding on the cloud" feeling of the Buick. Ride was a touch noisier.

Gas mileage was not as good as expected (24-29 MPG), given the smaller engine (3.8L vs 2.2(?)L)

She has had no mechanical problems. Everything works, all the time. Accessories, engine, transmission, etc.

The Sonatas were redesigned for 2006, perhaps this has changed, but we both prefer the older body style.
