PF-9 has a 3.1" barrel. Chrono'd them the other day and they averaged 1133fps (not bad from a short barrel). Fired through 4 layers of bath towel into my swimming pool. And yes, I know water isn't the same as gel but I was bored and it oughta give some kind of idea how it'd do.

    .62 caliber expansion.

Love the HST, I haven't got or tested any but from what I've read and seen, they are pretty much next down to the ranger Ts

That's basically what I was thinking. Guess what's going in my PF-9 when I carry it? ;)

In fairness I do have some HST 147gr rounds I could test, both chrono and otherwise. However, I think these will do just fine from a 3.1" barrel.

I think you have a better chance of the Pf9 not working, than the bullet design.

I wanted one in the worst way, but for every couple that worked, I saw another headed back to the mothership for repair. I ended-up just getting an Airweight, and keeping it simple.

    Hope yours is trouble-free!

Only problem I've had has been a few light strikes with Hot Shot (Romanian) FMJ stuff. The first time I shot it I fired 25rds of Hot Shot and 25rds of the HST 124gr +P. Had four light strikes, all with the Hot Shot and none with the HST. The mathematical odds of it being the pistol are pretty slim. I've been told that although Hot Shot is brass cased and Boxer primed that the primers are harder than U.S. commercial ones so that is likely the culprit.

The manual says yes but not with continuous use.

More evidence to my assertation that 9mm in pretty efficient and doesn't suffer from "massive" velocity loss in short barrels. I seem to recall my G-17 chronographing about 100-fps faster than the PF-9 I had. A 1200+ fps +P load from a service sized pistol is still well within expansion velocity fired from a 3" sub-compact.

Looked at my notes and I see your results are pretty close to mine from a G26. Mine averaged 1147 fps from the HST 124 +P ammo.

None so far. Only issue has been a few light-strikes with the Romanian Hot Shot I mentioned. The HST has been fine.
