My state legislature is wanting its citizens to pay and pay and pay..

Why do citizens- LAW-ABIDING citizens- need to pay for their constitutionally-guaranteed freedoms?!?:steamed:

Texas CHL costs $140 for 5 yrs and $70 for the renewal, so I'm not sure we have much room to gloat. That said, it beats $400 and our state is "shall-issue" rather than "may-issue".
