my lodge and all others in the county go dark in july and august. most if not all others in my district don't and from what i gather it's not really a common pratice to go dark. does your lodge go dark?

Most of the lodges in my area, (Near Harrisburg, PA) go dark.

I visited a lodge in VA last month, I guess going dark in the summer isn't practiced as much down south.

nope, not here. We do go to more casual dress for the summer months, not that we have a formal dress code.

Our Lodge is presently dark, but we're the only ones in the general area that do so.

Hey Fernman, I visited Temperance Lodge while on vacation at Chincoteague. Since they are a "Moon Lodge" the actually had 2 meetings in June. It was kinda cool.

They did things quite a bit diferently than we do here in Pennsyvania!

    Not bad, just different.

In Ohio lodges go dark July and Aug. We still get together for lunches and socializing though.
