I have short fingers, how do others decock? Do you try to stretch your strong thumb forward or reach up and over with your weak hand thumb?

Whatever digit is closest and smoothest. Whatever works for you on a consistent basis each and every time so there is no confusion.

If you are decocking that means your are standing down, so it really shouldn't matter how you decock.

...or just have it converted to DAK, and never mess with the decocker again...

    Sig controls fit me perfectly.
And I thought I had small hands - LOL!

The de-cocker allows you to safely lower the hammer on a live round.
If you can't reach it with your strong hand thumb? Use your week hand.

In a fire fight you're just reloading, dropping the slide release and continuing with the fun?

    Am I missing something?

At first I used my strong hand thumb (I am right handed and have long fingers) but later started using my weak hand thumb and still do.

Others have made good comments. You just need to play around and find what works for you. I carry a 228 for off duty and a G22/35 on duty. I work my decocker like I work my Glock during mag changes...I roll it into my work space and use my strong hand thumb to manipulate lever/buttons. If on target and wish to decock then I use my support side thumb to decock, using two handed grip for a right handed person.

I shoot a friends SIG 2022. I love the thing. I almost got one when I was in the market for a compact 9mm, but I went the G19 route. The SIG was more than the Glock at the time (several years ago). I think my friend paid $399 at Gander.

I'm a lefty, so it's not the easiest thing to do, to decock a SIG. I use the trigger finger of my left hand.

    Thanks Guys,
As a woman with short fingers and maybe less finger strength it helps to hear different suggestions. Thanks again.

    Correct.

Get an H&K, decocker is right next to the hammer. Easy reach.
