No doubt about it Rush Limbaugh hurt himself for his remarks about the law student wanting her birth control pills paid for by the insurance of a Catholic college. It is difficult to speak for 15 hours per week and not say something stupid.

How he was taken down was really more interesting then what he said. The issue was that Obama said that insurance companies MUST provide birth control for free. The problem is some employers self insure meaning they pay the health costs and don't pay an insurance company for the coverage. So, the Catholic Church College who's beliefs do not support birth control contraceptives are being told by the US Government - you MUST pay for contraceptives. The main stream news media is very liberal and they love that they can do this to RL.

Why was Rush Limbaugh taken down? Because those that took him down can keep the focus on conservatives/republicans want to prevent or take away contraceptives from (poor?) women - and not the religious issue. (Imagine if the US government said that a Jewish or Muslim school had to offer and pay for pork in their cafeteria.) Also, he is a pretty successful guy and the liberals do not have anyone on radio or TV as successful.

So, expect more such game playing in the future.

I'll bet he has more listeners now, than he did before all this started. That includes Rush haters, too.

Yea a few people are going to pull there adds, but for every one that does there are at least 2 drooling over the idea of taking there place.

When Rush is no longer the #1 show in all of Radio and when his advertising spots are no longer the #1 most coveted ads in media, then you can say he has been taken down.

BTW: With as much money as Rush has, he could sponsor his program with his own money if he wanted to.

Some are missing the point of this post - it is the tactics that the left uses to take down those who speak the truth.

There has never been a movement to curtail women's contraceptives. Yet that is what people are talking about.

They are not talking about the US Gov't changing a religious practice - i.e. not supporting birth control.

But I guess what some of the responses are showing is how easy it is to distract people from the real issue.

Dancing with the Stars and American Idol - love them or hate them? What do you thing?

The only one distracted is you and a few others here who think Rush has been harmed in some way.

No, you're missing the point. Rush hasn't been "taken down."

He's being attacked by fools, but what else is new? He's been on the demoRATs enemies list since he went on the air. All it's done is to endear him to the conservative community.

    He wasn't.

    He to replace some advertisers.

The left was in the middle of shooting itself in the foot when Rush, who told the obvious truth about what you call a woman who wants to be paid for recreational sex, got highlighted by the media who screamed, Oh look at that! He can't do that. Only Wanda Sykes and Bill Maher can do that. We must now feign offense!

If Rush had said something less volatile, the Left would have taken the hit instead. What the woman was asking for was absurd. It still is. No one should kid themselves that the woman is anything more than what Rush originally said, and a deadbeat.

People still listen to the radio? That's so 20th century. How quaint.

"the obvious truth about what you call a woman who wants to be paid for recreational sex"

Who was going to pay her? Are you saying she was working as a hooker?

He is a loudmouth who makes people on our side of the issue look bad. IMO.

There are legitimate arguments to be made without resorting to name calling. If I wanted radio-smut, I'd tune into Stern

I sometimes think there must be two Rush Limbaugh shows. What I hear often said of him and his show by people who say they've listened is so far different than what I experience daily....bizzare.

I am still waiting to hear exactly how this slut wanted to get "paid".

The BS runs deep on both sides of this argument.
