Lasermax's thread in GNG made me think about this.

I know I need to lose weight and exercise more, and I'm sure there are at least 50 other GT'ers who feel that they need to do the same thing. So why don't we start a forum for the discussion of diet/weight loss and exercise. We can share diet tips and strategies, exercise routines and plans, and offer encouragement and support for those members who want to make a lifestyle change!

    How bout it fellow GT'ers?

Yesterday I weighed in 10 over where I thought I was at. When you're still under 200, that's not good news.

    I'm in!

I'd participate, so long as it was a pretty tightly controlled (preferably by responsible participants refusing to feed trolls) forum, or a private forum that trouble makers would literally just bee kicked out of (but not out of GT). If it's a place where ideas aren't bashed and people are supportive, I think it could be a great help to a lot of GTers. I've been putting off weight loss for about (gulp) 2.5 years and in that time, what I had lost has slowly crept back due to my gluttony.

I'm in I guess. I already have my exercise of choice picked, and maybe a bit of weight work somehow (no gym). And I guess you could say I'm on the diabetic diet (as in wife of diabetic, so i eat how/what he does, including portion control.

Excellent post. Diet threads around here often end up with others ridiculing someone else's thoughts on, err, say, a particular diet.

I was an athletic teen, but started having bad back problems when I was about 21. I'm 34 now, and I've had to lose between 30 and 50 pounds 4 times since then. I've been studying nutrition, diets, and am a certified personal trainer (but I don't do it professionally).

    With that said, I'm in.

We can have fights with the food forum folks...;f ;f

I'm in. I've lost about 10 pounds so far, but I've hit a plateau.
