and what a nice piece it is. just fondled one at the treschwig location. it's all stainless for $799. they have 2. idk about the other carters co.
i'd get it if i didn't have the 6920 layaway going. but to me $800 is too close to ar price. i'd rather get a 2nd ar.
carters pricing continues to be 10-20% over the other guys. the colt 6920 there is almost $1300. getting mine for $1075.
    glocks 3rd gen $550
they have the remmy r1 black finish for $100 more than what i can get a stainless slide model for at tomball pawn (my next toy after the ar, then a cheap ak)
anyway just a heads up to my houston neighors:wavey:

they will sell but the price is goofy high

I got mine for $629 when they first hit the market, a fantastic value. They show up from time to time 'round here for $659.

I checked in with Carter's back in February and they said they would be getting some in "soon".

Guess we now know how long "soon" is.

Gander Mountain off I-45 gets them in fairly regularly and last I checked they were charging a bit less (though still high). I think they wanted $759.00

$800 is ridiculous for the Ruger.

True, but as they say in trading, value is bestowed by the market.

    Supply : Demand

It is still a good value at $800.

I have paid about a $100 more for a pistol that you don't see in LGS very often. I was looking for one to get my grubby hands on for the last 6 months and found (stumbled) on it one day. So, shoot yeah I would pay more.

    As for the price:
    Impact's price $689.99 (back ordered)
    Shipping $24.00
    FFL fee $25.00
Total $ 738.99, not far off from the shop price, without the tax.

Still high though when my LGS had them for $600+ (can't remember the exact price.)

  10. I paid $750 for mine at Carter's last year. Even at $800 I'd still buy it today.

I want one really bad ....but $800? I guess I don't want it that bad. I think I'd spend $700 but not $800.

I paid 640 for my Rooooger. If I had to spend 800 for one, there'd be another Colt's or Springfield in my safe instead.

It is NOT an 800 gun and requires too much "finishing" with polishing, radius changes, and spring replacement to be worth that price. At 600 bucks, it's worth putting a day of work into and the price of new springs. Not at 800.

The SR1911 is like all other Rooooger guns in the sense that they use horribly over-power springs to overcome variations in tolerances during manufacture. Like other Roooger's, the end user must polish, clean, and refit parts in order to use normal spring rates for various functions. The 1911 is similar to all other Rooooooogers in this way.

Mine has required a lot of work and I'm not done yet as it still has a very creepy trigger.

They are nice looking on the outside and generally very accurate for the type. But, they are not 800 dollar gunz.

You know, I really don't get this post.

You've found a dealer who's charging way more for guns than other, better dealers. You decide to vote with your dollars by not paying his outrageous prices. Then, you come here and give the guy free advertising.

    I don't get that. I surely don't.

I bought a SR1911 when they first came out and I did purchase it from Carters Country. The gun is very nice quality gun for the price and I love it. It is one thing to sell a gun and take orders for one and another to sell a gun have it in stock that you can buy it and take it home same day. I have a very nice Kimber and since getting the Ruger I have not shot the Kimber since. I also Reload and shoot over 1000 rounds a month. I liked the Ruger so much I sent it in to Impact Guns to have them do A trigger job on it they did a Great Job on it. Just my 2 Cents on this

P.S after sending in the SR1911 I bought a IAC Regent 1911 and Learned how to do my own trigger jobs and replacing parts. My IAC is as nice as the Kimber now. I did put in a lot of Wilson Combat File fit parts.

if i wasn't knee deep in a 6920 layaway i might put some $ on it. but then again there's a few others i want more, like an ak (once i get the colt, next weekend)

Is the customer service at that carters better than the pasadean one? Only thing I go to them for is new powder to test out before buying 4/8 lb jugs, and bullets when I need 100 pack to test before bulk order. They are crazy priced , rude, and don't want to help unless you want a 1911.
