Why don't motels and hotels put slip proof showers in the rooms, are they wanting lawsuits? When I stay in a hotel, or motel I don't get cheap dives, and I check out the rooms before I pay, and I check online reviews if possible. I have never stayed at a place that had slip proof showers, I fell in a shower when I was much younger and any time I get into a shower I see how slick the bottom is, and I have never stayed in a place that had slip resistance tubs or showers. The last place I stayed at was Courtyard by Marriott, 110 bucks a night even they didn't have slip resistance tubs. Are they wanting law suits:headscratch::alex:

I've never had a problem with falling in the shower? But I don't dance around either.

And the problem with the slip resistant tubs is they are a BITE to keep clean.

    Hey Okie,

My thinking is that its that the porous materials are harder to clean. With the slick bottom you can just bleach the hell outta it.

But I always, ALWAYS will wear flipflops if i can't avoid taking a shower there lol.

I hear what you're sayin' Okie!!!!!!!

This old, gray-haired fat man slips and slides, in those slippery showers!!!!

Let's just say that the 'mats' or 'stickies' that they put in the bottom of a shower will hold dirt/bacteria easier than a clean, slick tub.

Grab a CHEAP pair of flip-flops for use in the showers.
I/we stay at the Courtyard Marriott a lot, and cheap flip-flops are in my travelbag.
(I really don't care to see those folks trying to get my 275 lb _ _ _ up!!!!!

Bleach won't sanitize a slip-proof shower? This puzzles me.

    Sure. But a molded-in slip-resistant liner?

While I agree I have never seen shower mats... I have seen the abrasive strips. I do agree with sandels.

BTW clean the remote, door knobs, turn down bed.
I heard some hotels is looking at UV lights to help clean... I would rather soap/water/elbow grease..

Probably because people who take Baths don't like sitting on a rough surface.

There's no need for non-skid in the hotel showers. There's a nice thick layer of athletes foot fungus in the bottom.

  19. My shower is a slip resistant one - at a quality inn staying in virginia right now.

Wish it wasn't, the grit is not comfortable.

Okie, what exactly are you doing in the hotel shower to warrant a non-slip surface?

Lots of moving and shakin' going on with perhaps a lady friend? :whistling:
