I have been looking at Gold Wings for 3 years and they are just too big for me, so I'm now looking at little brother, the ST1300. Anyone here ride them and if so, what do you think?

Interestingly enough I don't know anybody that has the ST1300. BUT there are lots of Cali cops riding them. CHiPs are still riding BMW but a lot of the local cops are sporting these ST1300s. It's gonna be rough trying to outrun the cops on these Hondas.

I think they are good bikes. Supposedly the earlier models had issues with high speed waving, but I think Honda fixed it since. I heard they are silky smooth and handle good for a 730lb motorcycle.
Motorcyclist Magazin made it the best Sport tourer bike in `06.
It was compared with the BMWK1200GT and the Yamaha FJR1300AE.

I've got an ST1100. Love it for it's intended purpose: Sport-Touring. It will eat up the miles and let you do a little peg scraping when you need to. I'd guess that the 1300 would be as good or better.

(Dude on an ST1300 won the '05 Iron Butt Rally, 13,000 miles in 11 days. That must be worth something!)

Good friend of mine bought one new last year.Loves it.Rode Deal's Gap and the Blue Ridge this year and kept up with the Ducati and the GSX(they weren't trying to lose him). Rides everyday he can to work.Made a great GPSmount that fits over his fork bearing thru bolt, and made a backrest that he should try and sell.No mechanical problems, but there is a lack of after market add ons.

My friend bought the Honda Factory radio online and had a dealer (I dont know why but he had a hella of time getting a dealer to do it) in IN put it together for him. Cost about 12 or 13 hunderd bucks. Id consider that!
