Don't forget Comp-Tac (www.comp-tac.com). They don't show it in their catalog but make holsters for the Steyr. I've used mine for 2 years and it's great.

Found another holster maker for this list: AKJ Concealco (http://www.concealco.com)

Their belts are interesting...they include a brass keeper (and buckle).

  6. My Blade-Tech has been serving me very well. The quality is excellent and I recommend this particular manufacturer highly.

I just recently purchased my S40 and havent had a chance to try out any holsters and was wondering if anyone here might have a suggestion for me. I will likely be getting two holsters, one for range and the other for concealed carry. I have been looking at getting maybe a mil-tech and/or one of those blade-techs as that just looks nice.

Can anyone reccomend a good, inexpensive holster that would work well for a range/IPSC holster? I wont be getting a CCW for awhile so I'm not worried about concealability.

Dieseler, look up two posts from your post ... flyandscuba's holster wasn't too pricey ('bout $50-$60 ... their regular old injection molded belt holster is around $15) and would be good for IPSC/range wear.

If you prefer leather, High Noon's Topless model is a good holster for the money.

If you want to stay in the sub $30 range, then Uncle Mike's (and a couple others) make nice inexpensive nylon universal holsters.

There was a request to make the following thread a sticky.

Figure it would be better just to put a link here in this sticky thread instead of stickying too many threads to the top of the forum.

It contains brief instructions and photos on how to convert a pancake holster to an IWB.

Just curious - does any of those manufacturers make a duty-type retention holster similar to Uncle Mikes, or Bianchi? I need one for duty use, but it seems that all of them make CCW holsters only. Thanks for any assistance.

I have yet another manufacturer for the holster list: Rafter S Gunleather (http://www.raftersgunleather.com)

According to Della Schafer at Rafter, they have a holster block for the M9 and can make a cowhide (black) OWB holster with a body shield for $61.80 with shipping ($45 holster; $10 body shield; $5.50 shipping and $1.30 for insurance).

The IWB holster is probably the same price, but I did not verify that with the Schafers.

    ....and the list keeps growing.

I use the Dillon Leather "CLS" or "cactus league slide" made for the Glock 17/19/22 series. It is an outside-the-waistband belt slide that fits a little tight on the M9 and M40s I own. I use it for IDPA and I use a Blade Tech for USPSA/IPSC production division. The Dillon is available throught the "Blue Press" for under $30.

I own a M40 and had a custom holster done by Graham's (listed above). I purchased the Falcon. Very nice holster. Highly recommended.

    http://www.grahamholsters.com/iwb.htm

    He does custom work, so.

My friend's M40 was the first Steyr holster Graham did. Friend had to take gun out to the guy's shop. Mine was the second. :)

This man is retired law enforcment "with a bad back." Very nice guy and I'm sure you could email him and discuss custom work that won't cost you any more than the current manufactured offerings.

I exchanged e-mails with David Stillwell of Grandfather Oak Custom Carry (www.grandfatheroak.com).

He is getting Steyr dummies in order to start making kydex holsters for the Steyrs. I asked him to let me know when he starts making them. Note the e-mail I got from him, below.

Meanwhile, if you have a Kel Tec P3AT or P11, he has nice pocket holsters for....under $20 bucks! I just got one yesterday for my P3AT. He'll make 'em left or right hand. The nicely molded holster holds the gun well secure...even upside down. The holster will release the gun when you want it to though. I got it the holster for $15 bucks shipped !!

If his upcoming Steyr holsters are as nice as the holster I got, then it should be good.

    I'll keep ya'll posted.
