I have been carrying a gov. 1911. When I first bought it, I just picked up a cheap minimalist skeleton style holster for it. It works okay, but I don't like that two inches of the gun sticks out the bottom of it. I also just recently started using a 1.5" gunbelt and the loops on mine are set up for 1.75". It does not fit snug enough for me.

I wanted to get some recommendations on a good leather OWB holster. I would like it to have some forward cant and be very concealable. I also want a belt scabbard rig. IWB carry is just not for me.

I am also looking for two single leather mag carriers. Black holster and black carrier would be perfect as they would match my belt.

    Any suggestions?

There are many good 1911 holsters. Some examples of good, quality leather that I have, or have tried are the Brommeland, Milt Sparks, Alessi, Nossar, Del Fatti, TT Gunleather, ect holsters. From there, it is just a matter of which one feels best to you for your build.

I use a Milt Sparks SSII (Summer Special 2) its an excellent rig. Im a big guy, I have wide hips, no matter how "thin" I get. I also have very wide shoulders, for ME, the SSII and rigs like it hide a 1911 comfortably and completely in just a t-shirt and jeans. This may or may not help you.

My brother is much leaner than I am. He is my height 5'11" and about 180 pounds and he carries in the same rig. Everything from a Beretta 92, to a 1911 disappear for him with the same rig. I think the SSII just works period.
Give it a look. I think Brownells has them in stock.

Thanks to everyone for the recommendations. I actually called my favorite gun store owner the day before yesterday and asked him to order me in a black Galco Concealable holster. I also asked him to get me two black single mag carriers for the 1911.

I appreciate all of the input! :wavey:
