Holster Library: Borrow One to Try Before Buying...

Discussion in 'Carry Issues' started by bill clancy, Jul 24, 2003.

  1. Most of us have holsters we don't use. How about setting up a "Holster Library" to lend our unused holsters to our Glock Talk bretheren, who may be interested in a holster, but leery of plopping down the cash for yet another failed holster experiment?
I'd be willing to let a Glock Talk member borrow my Cen-dex Kydex IWB for a Glock 19, that sits collecting dust. I'd cut them a deal if they wanted to keep it too!
I vote that the borrower pay postage.

got a couple of galcos that just collect dust for my 23 and a fobus owb would be willing to loan or if someone has one that I haven't tried and I have one they haven't tried who knows seems like we could end the shoebox of unused holsters with this idea. Lets concentrate on finding unused holsters a good home;w

Ill be the first to put out a request if anyone has one of those pesky SideArmor IWB's for a 23 I would be willing to take it off their hands or trade for it;) Im just looking to try other iwb

Two that I have to trade around are:

Galco Silhouette High Ride Holster Black(almost brand new) TRADED FOR ANOTHER GALCO

Galco Summer Comfort that I bought for the 27 but use for my 23 .Traded

I also have a leather 3 position holster (not sure of manuf. will look tonight) That I would be willing to trade for almost anything prob. didn't cost alot of dollars new got it in a trade thought someone who might not want to spend $big dollars could get it from me it has a thumb snap. its a good holster I just don't have any need for it.Traded

Sounds like a good idea, espec. for us lefties.

I've got a Don Hume JIT Slide LH for a Sig 239, along with an accompanying single-stack two-mag snap-on pouch. Both are in Saddle Brown, though the slide is basketweave and the pouch is plain. They're not old, but they do look somewhat used, because they are. :)

Also have a Don Hume LH IWB clip-on for the 239 in Saddle Brown that's in great shape.

Would gladly trade them for LH midsize (19, 23, 32) stuff.

This is an outstanding idea and one that I would sure want to use upon the purchase of new handguns. I would suggested that it be better posted in the holster want ads section of this forum. It may even be deserving of its own section. The "Holster Library" is a great title for the new section of the forum.

    Sorry RAH
I just checked the safe, I gave the Bladetech for the G-17 away. I do have the ones for the G-19 and the G-26.

I haven't used them in so long I forgot that I gave it away to someone I can't remember, probably SoDFWJason.

The one for the 19 is ready if you want it.

    Great idea!!

It's certainly beats the hassle of me selling them for $0.99 on eBay.

I would like to see a good righthanded shoulder holster for a Glock 23.

I am not sure if I would like this method of carry. It seems that a good shoulder holster can cost some serious jack as well.

Excellent idea.:) Unfortunately I usually toss in a holster when I trade/sell a pistol, no point in keeping leather for steel I no longer have. On the other hand, let me go see what I have...
