    I'm looking for a couple of holsters, one for a J-frame 642 2" airweight snub and the other for a K-frame Model 15 2".

What I'd like is the following:

    1. Strong side belt holster OWB
    2. Thumb - break
    3. As slim and trim as possible - can be a tunnel loop instead of a pancake (especially for the J-frame, as long as it pulls the gun in tight)
    4. Any color, as long as it's BLACK.
    5. High ride...I'd like as little of the barrel below the belt as possible.
    6. Sized for a 1 1/2 inch belt.
    7. Leather for the Model 15; leather or kydex is OK for the J-frame.
    8. $75 or less for each (I've seen a couple $100 holsters that I like, but...well, they're $100!)

For example, the El Paso Tortilla seems like a nice, straightforward holster for the K-frame, though I wonder if it will be more leather than is really ncessary for the J-frame. I've also used some DeSantis holsters for the K-frame, and handled some for the J-frame, and while nicely made, they seem a bit too bulky for my taste.

    Your suggestions are appreciated.

Try www.usgalco.com I have serverall Galco holsters (OWB & shoulder) and am very satisfied with their quality. Just go to the website and and enter the weapon you need a holster for. I used a Galco Speed Master for my 62 and the Galco F.L.E.T.C.H. for my Mod 64 (S&W K frame 2"). Good luck to you.

Check gunnersalley.com. There I bought a Don Hume JIT and it fits great for my 638 J-Frame. It doesn't print at all, so I can wear it with just about any shirt. It's OWB.

Thanks for that link, I hadn't seen his holsters before. His "Enhanced Pancake" seem to be what I'm looking for.

I like both of the Galco models, but I think they are cut for a 1 3/4" belt, and wonder if they might have a bit of slip on a 1 1/2" Have you tried either on a 1 1/2" belt?

The JIT is a great holster for small guns. I used one for several years with my PPK, but neve with a J-frame. But I was thinking about getting a holster with a thumbreak. Have you found the retention on the JIT to still be good with the small revolver? I worry that there isn't quite enough holster to really hold onto the S & W snub.
