Hogue overmolded AK pg and forend?

    Hogue lists AK grip and forend sets on their site but no pics. Has anyone seen these yet? I dropped Hogue an email asking if this product is shipping and if they have any pics but haven't heard back yet. SHOT show week is probably a bad time to be contacting vendors.

    So... anyone seen this product yet? The forend specifically.

    The most I have seen is the grip so far. I'd love to see the forend. If they made a polymer stock coated the same way I'd buy that too.

    Their stuff is comfortable.

    I was thinking the same thing. I'm currently in the market for furniture for a Saiga conversion and I'd love to see what they've come up with. If I get a reply to my email I'll post it here.

    If you look to the right of the page that your link takes you, there is a SHOT 2010 picture section about a third of the way down the page on the right. There is a picture of the hand-guard in there.

    Ooh I like that! But I can also wait until they get some better pictures up of all the stuff. It will make deciding between black and OD a little easier.

    Excellent detective work Sully!
    The product is already listed on their website so it appears to be shipping. As long as the rails are removable it looks like a winner to me. I have overmolded grips on one of my Sigs and I love them.

    Just to add to my post, I placed an order for the Hogue furniture last week but it appears that it won't ship for 90 days. I'm stoked! Ken from Hogue Inc posted more details over at SigForum:

    Hogue seems to make good,quality stuff. I just put a Hogue Monogrip on my AK. Awesome grip,the only thing I don't care for is the fact that it's hollow with no bottom. I guess maybe they did that to reduce weight. :dunno:

    It looks like the set that includes the grip is only $10 more. I wonder if they can be modded to fit a Saiga 12 ?

    Hmmm. I didn't realize the grip had an open bottom. Not that I really need the storage area in the grip but it seems like a terrible waste not to put a little door down there.

    I don't know if Hogue parts are US made or not, I assumed they were. I guess I'll have to find out.

    Usually they would predominantly display "counts as an US part"

    If I remember correctly,Hogue does make a version of the Monogrip with storage and a door,which cost a little more of course.The one that I have is the standard Monogrip.

    Hogues PG are made in the US I would assume the HG are as well.

    Ken at Hogue posted this in sigforum when I asked about the parts:

    The Grips are US made parts and are tagged "US Made"

    In regards to the forend parts, I asked one of the owners here if this will be a USA made part, He Said, "We have not discussed it but Yes, it would be in our best interest to mold these part in our Paso facility"

    Tooling is currently being designed, the part you see above are rapid proto-types of the design thus far. I will know more next Tuesday as to a firm answer to the USA MAde brand for these parts and report back.

    No doubt, if I here earlier I will report back sooner
