Hey guys i Just got my hands on a HK 45c and I was wondering a couple of things.

First off what brand night sights are the ones on it, they are yellow in day light and super bright green / yellow at night.

Also what holsters are you using that's not too hard on the slide? I don't fell that the finish is that good on these pistols and I really don't want to hurt it too bad.

Thanks for any and all help

I only use horse hide from High Noon Holsters. In addition to being very durable and moisture resistant horse is very gentle on a pistol's finish. And High Noon does horse hide extremely well.

The HK hostile environment finish is one of the best in the world. Bill

Don't worry about the finish too much. A worn HK is one of the coolest looking things around, even better than a worn Glock.

What High Noon is your favorite? I've been contemplating an OWB for a long time but have yet to decide.

If your HK45C is all factory original, then the sights are luminescent. Most HK's come with luminescent sights that are not true tritium night sights. The luminescent sights absorb daylight and then fluoresce it off in the dark, but ultimately need to be "recharged" periodically by light. This is because tritium, I believe, is not legal in Europe since it is technically radioactive.

If your pistol it is the tactical version, it would come from the factory with Meprolight Tru-dot tritium night sights. Or if it is used, it could have any of a myriad of aftermarket night sights.
  6. The stock sights on the HK45CT are Meprolights. Had HK install mine on my HK45C. green/green is all that's available.

    nice 3 dot sights though

My favorite is the Slide Guard and I have six of them. I like the sweat guard. The Sky High is excellent if you like a thumb break.

I have been using High Noon gear for 15 years now. Tried everything else but always return to High Noon. The tension screw, not often found on high end leather, is a nice feature that lets you adjust the draw to your liking and adjust as the holster wears. I have a bunch of other high priced leather holsters with out this feature that sit in a box cause they never broke in right or got too loose with wear. A few days ago I got a IWB Public Secret in horse and could wear that one right out of the box with no break in needed. Give High Noon a try and I think you will be well pleased. Their belts and mag carriers are excellent also. Bill

The 45c is the Mercedes of the poly carry weapons.
    Simply a perfect pistol.

I like the HK45CT but the DAO was too long and creepy. So I sent it to GGI on March 29, 2014. It should be back by August 30 2014. If it is better than a used USP45 Elite I will be very happy.

High noon holsters, although a good quality holster they tend to be very thick, on top of a wide gun, don't know if is for iwb...........

    Congrats on a great pistol.

Agreed, I had a horse hide high noon IWB holster and it was very thick.
