He makes a good case for the gen 4 just needing some actual use. BTW I never miss my 80 yard gong when rapid firing, he should do a bit more shooting. :faint:

Are we still trying to shoot that crappy American ammo they are selling these days? Like trying to run a Lear Jet on regular unleaded.

Are you referring to American Ammunition ( A-merc) The company?

    Or American made ammunition?

Greg is quite a guy indeed. He shoots pretty good for a school teacher who is cross eye dominant.

Funny, That american crap, ( and russian crap) runs 100% in my 2nd and 3rd gen Glocks, and my stock 1911 as well.....

Must be a design flaw in the Gen4s, they ain't the good product they used to be.

Hitting the gong at 80 yards is too easy for Hickok45, so now he's dribbling a basketball while hitting the gong in a recent video. Given his predilection for shooting at odd objects, I was sure the basketball wouldn't survive the video, but it did. Oops...I hope I didn't spoil the ending for others!

Seems to be good after running 1000's of rds which is good!
What if you had a spring fail or break, will you have to do this process again?
The 3rd gen's, I have thrown in brand new guide rod's in place and they have seemed to work from first shot on?
Not harping on the 4's (I want one my self), just wondering though?

I bought a slightly used G19 gen4 last week with the 03 spring and took it shooting this weekend. I put 200 rounds of federal 115gr, 50 rounds of PMC 115 gr, and 50 rounds of some 100 gr frangible cheap crap I found at the gun store. the gun functioned 100%. I am happy with my purchase

How can they be better when numerous reports of trouble have come to light?

I personally have seen 2 Gen4 G19s, a G17 and a G22 malf so frequently at my agency's last qual with experienced shooters that our agency and the County put the on the forbidden list.

Now I admit they DO feel better in my hand, but a Gen4 just won't be adopted until good reports become widespread.

I've used my Gen4 G19 w/03 spring in three competitions to date:

    11/21/10--Oxford, NC, Blazer 124-gr, 200 rounds
    1/16/11--Roanoke, VA, Magtech 115-gr, 50 rounds
    1/30/11--Roanoke, VA, my 147-gr reloads, 50 rounds

It has been flawless. I will continue to use it in competition in Roanoke VA, Lynchburg VA, Morganton NC, Knoxville TN, Marietta OH, Conyers GA and Oxford NC in 2011. All future matches will be shot with my light 147-gr reloads.

Danny, what are your 147 loads? I am looking at switching to that weight for practice like my carry 147s.

Did anyone else notice a master shooter using the slide stop lever to release the slide on a new magazine?
