Well now that the wedding is over and I finally get to buy an upper for a RRA lower kit that I have... problem is I have never had an ar. The wife has allocated $800 of tax return money for it plus whatever I wanted to spend. For about $800-$1000 what do you guys recommend. I am an accuracy nut with everything... I also like the heavier feel of the hbar. Any help of manufacturer and best place to get it will be helpful. Thanks!

check out PrecisionFirearms.com he does really good work and specializes in all different calibers, if you're going for accuracy and want to use heavier bullets 62gr. and higher 1/7 twist is definately the best way to go in the way of .223,

What do you want to do with it? If you want to plink, get an inexpensive DPMS M4 knock-off for $500 and a case of ammo. If you want one for competition, duty, defense, varmints or a combo, all those have an impact on the choices.

Why not just get a RRA upper. They make a ton of different models. Also you would then have a complete RRA AR instead of a mix and match. I like my RRA a lot.

Just have to figure out what you want it for first.

    Look at Spikes M4LE upper.
    Around $500.00 complete. Great quality.

This will leave you some cash to play with on optics, magazines etc.
