I have 3 computers, but on 2 I cannot access some Web pages. I think that this may be a problem running scripts. Here are a couple pages that I cannot link to:

    http://www.nwa.com/cgi-bin/linkshare.cgi
    http://www.fatwallet.com/redirect/bounce.php?http://www.ofoto.com/

I am running IE6 and set my settings back to default. I turned of ZoneAlarm, which did not make a differene. I also tried linking to the sites through FireFox browser, but still no luck. In FireFox, I get a message "The connection was refused attempting to contact www.qksrv.net" and in IE I get a "Cannot find server" page. I cleared my history and cookies to no avail. I think all 3 computers are set up roughly the same (no proxy server, etc.).

On the two computers I am having problems with, I am running a Java 2 Platform Edition (latest version) plug-in.

    What am I missing?

okay, then tracert the sites you can't reach on the affected machines.

nwa.com and fatwallet.com are both reachable, but the links that they have me click on (posted above) don't work. Wouldn't these be in the same domain?

so it's just a particular area of each site that you can't reach?

what's common between the failing machines? if you uninstall that java plug in will it work?

removed the java plug in, but that did not help.

Here is a link I pasted into my browser:
    http://www.fatwallet.com/redirect/bounce.php?http://www.ofoto.com/

and I get the message "The connection was refused when attempting to contact www.qksrv.net"

So there must be some script (is that what the .php is?)O that I am trying to run and my browsers (either IE or FireFox are not letting me run). What would be blocking those scripts? Nothing in my firewall software seems to be to blame.

i'm not sure what's going on.

i tried the links in your original post, i am running firefox 0.9.1.

the first link took me to a page that asked for my miles number or something and wanted me to use the back button on my browser.

the second link popped up a message saying i should upgrade my browswer.

maybe surf to the page with firefox with the java console open. it might show you some errors.

i'll have to defer to someone else on that one.

on the machine that works, have you tried loading firefox on it, surfing to the site, and see if you get the same error?

Do a tracert on them. Just because the DNS servers are the same doesn't mean that the hosts file on that computer, or malware isn't redirecting the domain name to a different IP address.

If the tracerts or pings come back with different IP's, try accessing the IP directly.

    NWA.Com = http://139.72.190.50/ try that link.
