GOOOOOOOOD MORNING U.S.A. !! I'm Italian, and at first sorry for my very unpopular language in writing.
My next PISTOL! I'm sure I'm going to buy a revolver, but as soon as possible (before the end of the year) I want a 1911 !
In italy, gun shops aren't experienced with this gun ( perhaps a little 'more with beretta  ).
But beretta is my brand, I live near the country of production of them.
I need some HELP from you, my dear people from beautiful U.S.A., for YOUR pistols, especially for the choice of a good 1911 model: COLT ? REMINGTON ?? SPRINGFIELD ??? KIMBER ????
WOW, the choice is very difficult. For your experience, which is the best one, one made better.
Only one thing: I'm not billionaire.

THANK YOU USA, GOD BLESS YOUR ARMED COUNTRY!

greetings from PizzaLand (but in italy pizza is very different from your, and also pasta...):supergrin:

Congratulations on your decision to purchase one of the finest firearms our country has conceived! I STRONGLY urge you to go with a Colt, not because any of the other guns you mentioned are inferior to it, but the Colt would be the way to go for your first classic American 1911. Happy shooping.

I agree w/ Oldnoob. Bac wrote his own buyer's guide! :wow: The dude is legit 1911 crazy! Just tell him how much you are willing to spend and he'll give you a handful of 1911's to choose from. I have been very pleased with my Rock Island Armory Tactical but it's a "Lower End" 1911 and made in the Phillipines. Hasn't jammed on me yet (when using quality mags) but for your fist 1911, get a real American one. IMHO:cool:

The Ruger SR1911 is one of the best values going.

i had a kimber lemon but know several who love them. my best luck was with the two springfield armory pistols i had.

if i were to buy one just for the sake of having one, maybe an investment or maybe an occasional shooter, i would probably go with a colt. they are the original.

It's not a super-tight finicky custom. It's not a sloppy mess either. It just works. It cycles the affordable Russian steel case ammo w/o issue.

I love my Kimber, but seeing as how you also are considering a Ruger GP100, get the Ruger 1911 to go with it.
Italy makes some excellent pistols, it will be cool having a few Yankee guns to go along with it.
