I have a Asus K52F. I'm getting a BSoD when attaching to my HD TV via HDMI. Plugging in the HDMI cable to the computer gives a black screen on both monitors, then BSOD on my laptop only. If I plug in before start up, I get no blue screen but both screens remain black. I get the following BSoD message:

    Stop 0x0.00000007E

So far I have updated the graphics driver, used 2 HDMI cords, and both HDMI ports on the TV.

    Can anyone shed some light?

  2. If you do not get any picture on the TV even at startup, I suspect a hardware problem with the video chipset.

Use drivers only from Asus, not generic drivers and not drivers from Windows Update, even if the drivers from Asus are older.

  4. When you boot the laptop with the TV connected, you should see a POST screen before any driver or OS is loaded. So I suspect the OP has a bigger problem than just drivers.

Some Asus notebooks have had some problems fixed with BIOS updates.
