I made a trade for a 1911,and yes it is a Taurus, unfortunetly did not look the pistol over good enough, turns the safety is fouled up . It seems to be the problem with the ambi falling apart.I read on another forum that u can put back together with locktite and it will work, everheard of that.:dunno:

you're down in teh Canton area right? if you go by Pro Armament in Cuyahoga Falls, they are pretty knowledgable with 1911's there.

i would personally swap it out because it seems like it likes to fall apart.

they have all the parts there, or you can order them from Brownells.
I prefer the Ed Brown single safeties.

Maybe you could ask them for a refund. Definately not a tier 1 pistol.....

that loc-tite idea sounds a little problematic. You could end up gluing the ignition parts together.

kinda what I was thinking. If this problem was not present i think this gun would be a good shooter.I wont complain since I bought the red rider at a garage sale for$15.00.It is no Kimber by any stretch but still a 1911.

You should build a Quackenstein Taurus build. Flat trigger and all Fusion parts. Then do a torture test to see if it would make it through a WWB value pack without something failing, breaking, or falling off.
