Has the NRA/ILA lost sight of it's mission. They pay Wayne LaPierre what??

    Oh, USA
I'm not talking about government conspiracy, but I wonder how many GT members are really anti 2A activists. I have read some stuff over the years that made me wonder how someone could be a 2A supporter and supposed gun owner and hold the opinions that were expressed.

Wayne is in the trenches for all of us.
whining just serves to divide gun owners.

become involved in other ways in addition to supporting the nra.
snail mail is more likely to be read/pondered than e-mail by congress because you just cannot sort/tally handwritten letters - you can e-mail.

:wow: Wow! Human stupidity never ceases to amaze me!

It's difficult to imagine either the scope or extent of moronic social intellect until you actually see it in action. My generation had a lot more savvy. We weren't such, 'internet jerks'; and (NOT that it ultimately did us much good, but) at least, we had the initial insight and acumen - along with the tenacity - to launch the so-called, 1977, 'NRA Rebellion' in Cincinnati.

Back in the 70's NRA leadership and management sucked, big time; and know what? It still sucks, big time, today. It's only that the extant membership isn't, 'cut from the same cloth', is both morally and socially degraded, and completely fails to grasp how Harlon Carter so very smoothly sold out every single gun owner in America. Nothing's really changed in 2013. If anything the situation has become far worse!

Don't let an old gunman like me, 'rock your boat', though. If you guys want to, 'clutch at straws while drowning' that's your business. Me? I've got little, or no, use for taking either the, 'easy way out', or joining in on and running along with an effete popular illusion.

American gun ownership is well on its way to becoming stone-cold dead; and, the way I see things, the NRA has done an excellent job of misdirecting America's gun owners, pissing tens of millions of contributed dollars away, and fooling the vast majority of America's (remarkably) simple-minded gun owners into believing that they're doing some good. (They're not!) ;)

By the time you people wake up and realize what's happened to America and its Constitution, it's all going to be over! (What is more, I'll bet that better than 90% of the present American gun owning public won't even know exactly, 'How' or, 'Why' they got screwed out of both their guns AND their Republic!) :freak:

If there are 4,000,000 NRA members -

and he makes about $1,250,000 a year -

Then he is costing each member ~$.32 a year.

Mailing a letter to your congress critter now costs $.46 for the postage.

Have you had your eyes checked recently? That could be part of the problem you know.

First, sarcasm isn't going to save you.

Second, I'm already convinced that the situation is well beyond repair; and

Third, I don't care enough to argue the point. Am I correct? Am I incorrect? Time will tell; AND, the good news is that you're not going to have to wait that long to find out! (Less time, in fact, than I have already lived!)

By the way, your English grammar is wrong. You left out the, 'comma of direct address' before the expression, 'wise one' (Which by the syntax you, obviously, intended should have, also, been capitalized.) This tells me a lot about the type and quality of education you, clearly, haven't received.

Maybe you could get a job in the NRA's Accounting Department? ;)

Anyone here make more than a million a year and can tell us what it takes to earn that much jack?

    Didn't think so...

You would have thought the logo with a shotgun shooting at an eagle would have given him a clue.

I have two points to add to, that several others already made...

Exactly. I doubt they spend more asking for money than the donations. No business / charity / org can do that long term.

And I agree - I also sent Wayne himself a personal letter with those sentiments - I promised I would renew indefinitely if they stopped with the solicitations and it ceased immediately and permanently. (And I've held up my end of the bargain).
I'm sure Wayne didn't read it, but someone did and it got through.

I don't think you need to earn seven figures to know this:

    Bingo.

I object to so much demonizing of Corporate Exec pay (or even CEOs of 501(c)3 groups. These folks are directing multi-million dollar organizations. You don't want just anyone doing that. At least I don't.

I knew you had much to teach me.

Tell me how you would have done it differently. This could be a great opportunity for me to learn about the failures of their federal and state lobbying strategies.

I just sent an email to the USFWS complaining about their logo, which shows a bald eagle being shot and injured.

  20. You can easily turn off the e-mail and snail mail stuff. Hardly something to whine about.
