Gunsmith's in Fauquier county?

Discussion in 'Glockers of the Old Dominion' started by Va Vince, Aug 8, 2009.

  1. Anyone know of any reputable gunsmiths in or around Fauquier? I have my fathers old S&W 357 I need to get re-blued.

Clark Bros would probably be a good bet.

What model is it? If it's collectible, it may be worth more as-is.
  4. Thought about them, there only 15 minutes up the road.

Its a model 19-5. I have no idea what its worth, its not that old. Maybe 20-25 years? It has some rust forming on the barrell, not to bad. Shoots nice.

I strongly recommend you talk to Berny Hostrop; he doesn't get out much but can tell you exactly what you need to do and what's the best way to get it done. Here's his info:

    Berny Hostrop
    GBH Gunsmithing (Since 1950)
    NRA Master Training Counselor

  6. Looks like he is in Warrenton. That is about good as it gets. Thanks

Berny is a good guy. He is one of my NRA Training Counselors. A bit 'crotchety' in his old age :), but he won't steer you wrong.

One other contact I just remembered. I don't know the 'smith, but I know his contact. Contact Virginia Pistol in Linden. Jimmy works with a local gunsmith there who's pretty good too. us.html
  9. I have a number of a guy down in Orange at home. I'll try to remember to post it tonight.
  10. Found it.
