The new tax will push the price of a pack to more than $10 when it goes into effect March 1.

at least gun owners there arent the only ones being penalized:faint:

You've got to consider the kind of people who live there...

I'm pretty happy with the new gun tax, I'm glad my local politicians finally figured out that Cook County has a "Revenue Problem" not a "Spending Problem". Surely, the expected $600,000/year revenue stream from the Gun Tax will balance the budget and help pay the extraordinary pensions of our public servants. Seriously, you guys have Illinois all wrong, we re-elected Jesse Jackson, despite the fact he hasn't worked for the past year, we elected Schneider in the 10th district despite the fact he is on video taking bribes, and of course we backed President Obama because socialism and redistribution are what this country was built on.

When the economy collapses and the government gets overwhelmed dealing with the mobs, it's easier to get rid of them if they can't fight back. This has nothing to do with crime.

Sadly, a lot of the local police frequent Shore Galleries Gun Shop in Lincolnwood, Il (just North of Chicago). Shore has been in business for over 50 years. Would be a shame if this hurts their business. Plus, they were looking at adding a state of the art shooting range. Wonder if that will pass thru city council.

I may have to go there for a week right after Thanksgiving and I am dreading it already.

I would hope the NRA would challenge this tax.

Violence tax eh? Sounds to me like being violent with your gun up there should be legal, since you're paying a tax on it.

We get taxed for their babies until they're 18. Then we pay taxes for all of their living expenses for the rest of their lives. When they have babies the cycle starts again.
