I may go Saturday morning just because I have nothing else to do and it's only about 10 min away. I went to one a while back and didn't buy a thing. I've been thinking of buying a S&W 642 and a Ruger LCP... but not sure I'll find anything in my price range this weekend. Don't need to be spending money on myself this close to Christmas & such...

There's another Dixie Jan 17-19... I'll probably save my buying for that one.

I am planning to make the show either the 22nd or the 23rd.
Is the show in Jan better or about the same as this one?

Does this show generally carry a wide selection of handguns or is it mostly rifles and other long guns? Are the prices significantly less than a local gun shop that it is worth the drive?

Lots of merchants selling handguns. More handguns than rifles, both times I've been (which have been within the past 12 months).

I don't know if the prices are substantially better. The thing that's really nice is that you can go there and see and handle a variety of weapons.

I'll be there bright and early Sat. morning. If you see a guy with cargo pockets on a pair of liberty's say hello.

I will probably be there nice and early Saturday as well. I'm praying it will not be too crowded.

Yes, they do (well, did in previous years) have quite a few different AR's, and some with very decent prices. I do not want to buy one now with the higher prices, and probably a smaller selection, but they should be quite a few there.

Gun shows are always gun though, its nice to be able to look at/hold a large variety of guns/assault rifles.

It does cost money to get in though, $12 I think.

Ok thanks. I already ordered a upper and lower receiver and I planned on going the short barrel route but I talked to an attorney today and I just think it's going to be so much trouble...so I want to see how a 16 inch barrel feels like. I'm very tiny so I was thinking the shorter barrel would be better for me.

I think I'm going tomorrow with the intent of buying mags and Glock mag pouchs; but is there even a point, is it going to be cheaper than ordering these things online? Or do y'all think the prices will be jacked up because of high demand?

In the past three shows I've been to in that building, one shop has a build your own AR table, piece by piece; with lots of options.

I believe its Del Ton that does that. 2 of my buddies did that at a show in Greensboro, everything from a stripped lower to the sights all bought there.

I'll be there at 10 tomorrow morning. As far as prices, I've never seen anything that really blows the local shops out of the water... especially if you're paying $7 to get in plus gas if you don't live nearby. I just go for the selection and find the best price later...

Mr. Ton must be making a mint, especially today if he's there.

I'm going tomorrow...If any of y'all went, or are planning to go today, can you let me know how much 15rd G19 mags and the Glock Magazine Pouch are going for.

I'm trying to decide whether it's better to just buy the stuff online than pay $7 (which would be like shipping costs) to get them at the gun show.

I'm kinda guessing prices are going to be jacked. I'm guessing none of y'all will be buying a pistol from Ed's Gun Shop, heh. Thanks.
