Is there a gun show scheduled for the weekend of the 15th/16th in the DFW area?
If so, is it a decent show? I have a 1911 for sale and this may be another way to get it done.

The Mesquite "Big Town Gun Show" is a very good but small show, about 1,000 tables. Normally a few hundred small guys and 3 very big dealors that sell pistols for 20 or 30 bucks over cost. I have set up there for over 10 years.
Come by and see a fellow LONE STAR GLOCKER. I am in section "C"
Lone Star Glock Doctors is our Banner. I might be interested in buying or trading for you 1911.
    Hope to see you.

I'm hoping to get away from work for a few hours this weekend. I'll look you up. Thanks.

If you need to know what's happening this weekend, I keep this link updated weekly.

    http://www.therallypoint.org/forum/index.php?topic=942.0

It's too much hassle to keep it up to date for more than one week at a time, but if all you care about is the coming weekend, this will do it. The link lists another link to a website that covers a longer time period but that isn't usually as complete as my list.

If you know of a show in one of the covered states that's not on the list, let me know and I'll add the link to my list of sources so I don't miss it again.
