Remember he said he'd not take one dime from those who make below $250,000. Well guess what he plans on taxes everyone who owns a vehicle! If it's licenced to be on the road you'll be taxed! It called the "Milage Tax". And oh yes you'll be forced to have a GPS installed on your vehicle! And I'm sure you'll have to pay for it too!:steamed: No proposal to repeal exsisting Gas tax this will be just added on. And like all other transportation taxes -they will be used for everything but fixing roads and bridges!

The mileage tax always confused me. Isn't a tax on gas per gallon in effect a milage tax? You know drive more miles burn more gas?

Where's the confusion? The idea is to steal money and give it to Dumocrats.

democrats will find anyway possible to tax us more. Fairness has nothing to do with it. They don't care if they break us financially as long as they get our money. And when we run out of money, then we are dependent on the gov't for everything we need. And of course there will not be the things we need and this is when the new civil war begins.

I know who my enemies are...they're called politicians.

  11. There was an article a few days ago in my local paper about this. Apparently Gov. Perdue (NC) is floating the idea. So, it hasn't died, the states are now looking at it.

NC is going for it? Moonbeam hasn't even gone for it. Of course here in CA 60 mile plus commutes are common. After a certain point people start flying.

    The demise of sane conservatism

    By Michael Fumento

"The conservative movement has gone off the tracks, said Michael Fumento. As a lifelong conservative who worked in the Reagan administration, and has written of liberal folly for such publications as National Review and The Wall Street Journal, I am frequently dismayed—and increasingly disgusted—by the “mass-produced hate and rage” that passes for conservatism today. The New Right has no respect for the “civility and order” embodied by Reagan. Its leaders are demagogues like Rush Limbaugh and rabid bloggers who routinely refer to ideological opponents as “sluts” and “filthy freaks.” There can be no dissent from the theological insistence that global warming is a hoax, or that “Barack Hussein Obama” is a Marxist Antichrist; no one dares to condemn loonies like Rep. Allen West, a Florida Republican, who recently insisted that “78 to 81” congressional Democrats are members of the Communist Party. “The rabid Right” traffics not in intellectually honest debate but in “moral panic”—the terror that comes “when society is undergoing a wrenching transformation.” If saying so means that I, too, am now called an “idiot, moron, duplicitous bastard,” so be it."
