...and to be honest, I'm afraid to break out the magnifying glass and take a close look at all the signs INGLES has up, since I've missed this one for so durn long!

My morning walk before work was ruined as I took the time to actually carefully read the dozen-plus little boxed notes at the Bi-Lo's entrance. In there amongst which credit cards they take and the 'no shoes no shirt etc' bit, was a revolver in a red no symbol with "Weapons Prohibited."

Since it's an official-looking 'standard issue' sign, and not a cheap 'no-gun' sticker like at GO Grocery Outlet, I'm not even gonna bother with the local management (since I doubt they have the authori-tah to change it if they wanted to), but start higher up with making my case:

*A 'no-gun' sign is an invitation for a robbery, since there's less chance of getting shot by a 'good guy.'

*CCWers cannot be convicted felons, and at least in this state we cannot start a fight of ANY kind. Our fingerprints are on file with the government, and we've cleared background checks. How much do they know about their OTHER customers? ;)

*Finally, where many people are pro-gun, if not CCWers themselves....posting is bad for business. Guys like me see it as an insult, and will take our $$$ elsewhere! :soap:

Carry ABOUT anywhere? I need to find me a place that even prohibits LEOs to carry...I can test the "crime dosen't pay" theory! ;)

But seriously, I think I'll just stick to boycott and letters of protest. Less chance of getting shot at at work that way!

...unless I take on a posted business that's 'mobbed up...!'

Try the county jail......its about the ONLY place I know of that I can not carry.
I believe we (LEO's) have to check our weapons at federal courthouses also.

Well, got after Bi-Lo again and finally got a response...just the right combo of liberal B.S. and butt kissing! :freak: Some names and e-mails ommitted to protect the innocent and the sheeple! ;)

I have no doubt that Mr. Bishop is doing this on his own. I have NEVER seen a posted Bi-Lo store in SC and I worked a bunch of them for 12 years as a vendor.

You need to contact Bi-Lo's corporate HQ in Mauldin, SC and you need to write a letter, not send an email.

I'm also very surprised that such a store in Burnsville would even be posted to begin with. Granted, I haven't been there in probably 16 years but as I recall that part of the world is pretty anti-liberal. Asheville? Yes. But Burnsville?

I dunno....I think Asheville is starting to "bleed" onto Burnsville personally. I hear a lot of Bush-bashing, seen a lot of "Kerry/Edwards" stickers, see a lot of "Joe Sam Queen" and "Heath Shuler" signs currently...

And that's just Burnsville and the surrounding area...I NEVER go to Asheville, I head "across the border" (TN) instead!

Anyhow, thanks! I'll sure take your advice on going up the ladder! Maybe it'll help.

I assume this would be the mailing address, in case anyone else comes across this topic and is "feeling froggy"

    You're not paying attention.

You need to address the letter directly to the chain's president or CEO. "Consumer Relations" is a gate-keeper whose job is to send you another condescending letter.

That's F'd up about BiLo. Here in SC I noticed the sign which is about a 2 x 4 inch sticker with all the other anouncments on the glass of the sliding doors of the entrance.

Lucky enough for me here in SC that those signs are not of legal size to keep me from shopping while armed.

I'd really appreciate it if you (or anyone outside of the Asheville district) would check out your local Bi-Lo. That way I'll know if it's a whole company thing, or just this one guy.

If it's just the "DM's choice" then I can point out that "blood isn't running down the produce department" in places that aren't posted. And I've been running under the assumption that it's a new company-wide policy anyway, so no biggie if it is...

If it holds no legal standing in SC, that may be why you guys aren't seeing the signs there. They aren't putting them up becuase they know they don't mean anything.

In NC, we can't carry into any place that indicates they don't allow handguns. I'm not talking about being escorted off the property either. You are being charged and your CCW is being yanked.

    Well, here goes nothing...letter away!

Hope he even gets the dang thing. Since I didn't think his home address was readily available, I settled for a company one.

BTW...anyone shop at "Brunos?" Apparently it and Bi-Lo are under the same roof, just under 2 different brands. Wonder if THEY post?

    Well, I'll be damned...

Our local Bi-Lo here is also posted.

What they have is a window decal divided up into aproximately 2 dozen sections each measuring 1" high by 2" wide. In almost all of the little rectangles are the various EBT, credit, debit, and ATM logos but one of them has a crosed-out handgun that says "no weapons allowed". You really have to look for it to see it. That window decal has been there for ages I just never noticed that little part.

Again, such signs carry no legal weight in SC
